How to Deal With A Heartbreak: Taylor’s Version
Let's admit it. We've all had that one person who you pictured going on cute dates with, or taking cute pictures together to post on snapchat. You have such high expectations, and all these amazing things in your head that you are going to do together. They meet your family, start hanging out with you and your friends, you start hanging out with them, and their friends, until they leave you. Heartbroken. Boyfriend, girlfriend maybe you werent even dating yet, we all have to find our ways to deal with the shattering damage they just left on your heart and soul. I know for me I find many different ways to cope with feelings of heartbreak. I like to go out with my friends to try and distract myself, or even sitting by a lake admiring the sunset with full serenity. However, one of the most important things I do while doing those things is listening to music. And who is the queen of heartbreak music?? (upon many other things) TAYLOR SWIFT. Obviously. This girl's music has literally helped me through every heartbreak I've ever been through and I hope it can do the same for all of you. So, this is how to deal with a breakup- Taylor’s Version.
There are many different aspects to a breakup, and one of my favorite things about taylors music is that she seems to have music to fit how you feel every time. Sometimes, I'm in a mood where I have sad feelings about the breakup, I will think about it a lot, and kind of reminisce on everything that has happened-you know, sometimes you just need to be sad. And sometimes i just want to scream off the top of my lungs how i love being independent baddie, and how i'm the only priority from here on out. As said before and luckily for us, Taylor has a song to match how we are feeling. Below is a lst which I split up, of my favorite Taylor Swift breakup lyrics.
For when you want to be sad:
- "For the first time what's past is past" — "Begin Again"
-"I realize you love yourself more than you could ever love me" — "Picture to Burn"
“And I just want to tell you, it takes everything for me not to call you.”- “I Almost Do”
“Never thought we’d have a last kiss, never imagined we’d end like this.” -”Last Kiss”
“Losing him was blue like I’d never known, missing him was dark gray all alone.”- “Red”
“Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close, forever and ever?”- “Lover”
For when you want to be a baddie:
"People like me are gone forever when you say goodbye" — "All You Had to Do Was Stay"
"We are never, ever, ever getting back together" — "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"
“I’m gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well”-White Horse
-”All I know is that you drove us off the road”-All You had to do Was Stay
“I bet you think about me.” -”I Bet You Think About Me.”
These songs are a heartbreak must. No expectations. But, I actually have a very specific outlook on a certain Taylor song, actually one of my favorites. “All Too Well,” 10 minute Taylors version. Without a doubt the best heartbreak song ever. Besides the fact that you can literally sing to it for 10 minutes, this song is absolutely perfect. In the beginning of the song it's sad and mellow, definitely some lyrics you can cry to. But as the song builds up its just this wave of emotions that I don't even know how to explain. But, these are my favorites lyrics from that song- I didn't split them up like i did before because again honestly the song s a rollercoaster of emotions:
Favorite All Too Well Lyrics:
"And you call me up again just to break me like a promise / So casually cruel in the name of being honest."
And I know it's long gone and that magic's not here no more/ And I might be okay but I'm not fine at all
“You told me 'bout your past thinking your future was me”
“And maybe we got lost in translation/ Maybe I asked for too much/But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up”
“Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it/ I'd like to be my old self again/But I'm still trying to find it”
“'Cause there we are again when I loved you so/ Back before you lost the one real thing you've ever known”
Honestly one of the greatest heartbreak songs ve ever listened to. But besides “All Too Well,” Taylor truly does have a way with words when it comes to feelings of heartbreak. Most of her songs are centered around love, in a few different interpretations. Either way you want to put it Taylor's songs have helped me rediscover independence and are songs I allow myself to cry to. I would also like to thank Uma (https://www.fashionnphilosophy.com/ ) and Emma (https://www.longlivetaylor1989.blogspot.com/ )f or helping me develop the concept of this blog, and helping me with ideas.
